Composition
This product is composed of maltodextrin, fructose and sodium.
What is it used for?
Due to the enormous energy demands of these activities, in recent years the role of nutrition during training has been reinforced as one of the basic pillars. Therefore, factors such as carbohydrates, caffeine or electrolytes have gained special relevance. On the other hand, intra-training carbohydrate intake should cover the athlete's needs and have the optimal amounts of carbohydrates for each athlete.
At the same time, we must take into account that the consumption of carbohydrates during exercise obeys different transporters when consumed in large quantities, this means that under average amounts of carbohydrates the consumption of a source of glucose is sufficient. However, in those sports where large amounts of carbohydrates are consumed (above 45/60/g) the combination of a glucose source with fructose in a 2:1 ratio may be a good option to increase the total amount of carbohydrates during exercise. Therefore, the use of fructose as a carbohydrate in combination with glucose may be a more interesting action than both separately.
Thus, the gels presented have very interesting characteristics, since they provide 20 g of maltodextrin and 10 g of fructose per gel (a total of 30 g of carbohydrates), 200 mg of sodium (the main electrolyte lost through sweat).
On the other hand, within the parameters to be highlighted in the selection and design of these gels, we have taken into account the main limitations that athletes have:
Firstly, they have an aqueous texture that facilitates their consumption, they are refreshing, their organoleptic properties stimulate the desire to hydrate and they have a mild flavor that is not excessively sweetened or bitter in order to be consumed continuously in those training sessions and competitions of longer duration. On the other hand, they have a simple and quick opening that avoids distractions and facilitates their consumption.
Finally, as they do not contain stimulants in their composition, they can be combined with other gels or products high in caffeine or used in sessions where stimulants are not consumed in order to adapt the guidelines to the athlete's needs as much as possible.
Due to all of the above, in those sports where carbohydrate consumption is required, these maltodextrin and fructose gels become an excellent option.
Benefits:
- Contribution of carbohydrates during exercise.
- Combination of fructose with glucose sources to increase the amount of carbohydrates.
- Mild flavor without excessive bitterness or sweetness.
- Watery texture for easy consumption.
- Easy opening.
What dose to consume?
Adjust the dosage to your daily energy and nutritional needs. However, the consumption of 30 to 90 g of carbohydrates during exercise has been shown to have an ergogenic effect in medium and long duration sports. Thus, if you need 30 g of carbohydrates per hour, you can consume 1 of our gels.
